Geena Forristall is a freelance stage manager and artist primarily based in Boston. She is particularly passionate about accessible and transformative performance art, with a specific interest in immersive dance/theatre, queer theatre, and theatre for Deaf communities.
Geena is currently the assistant stage manager for Lyric Stage Company's Souvenir, as well as the production stage manager for the international tour of Kultar's Mime, a devised play that blends painting, poetry, theater, and music to explore the repetition of violence, the exploitation of minorities, and the corruption of politics. She will next be working on the Family Performing Art Center's Once Upon A Mattress.
When not on headset or feeding lines, Geena can be found choreographing/dancing, behind the camera taking photos of her (extremely photogenic) friends, writing plays, or trying to get her immersive dance theatre company started. Or, binge watching the latest Netflix hit.
Geena is a proud alum of Hofstra University, where she holds a BFA in Theatre Arts Production and a minor in English Literature. She's currently hoping to pursue a graduate degree in Deaf Studies or American Sign Language. If anyone wants to pay for her studies, please head to the contact page.
